It looked like the one in this picture and cost about $15. Big mistake. The brass was so thin in the arm that it bent on installation and a crack opened up. I returned it, and purchased this one from Amazon. This arm, made by Danze, was noticeably stronger, heavier, and well-made. It's made of solid metal (not pot-metal like some cheaper substitutes) so you can really crank down on the joint tighteners to keep it positioned where you want it (even though I've got a fairly heavy hand-held shower head product attached to it).It solved a very frustrating problem we had in being able to get the shower head positioned just right for my wife and I (with 8" of height difference between us). I bought one of these to try in one bathroom, and immediately bought one for my other bath. They simply work perfectly for raising the shower head in my bathrooms that appear to have been plumbed by construction dwarfs. Added bonus ... when my grandsons visit, we can even lower the shower head for the pint-sized guys. I've had them installed for about 8 months so far with no trouble. |
